“Access to the registry key ‘Global’ is denied” error in OpsMgr 2007 Web Console

 

This issue has surfaced in the newsgroups a few times and worth noting here.

Issue: Non-administrator user receives the following error when attempting to access the Web Console.

Event Id: 10
Source: Web Console
Description:
Create Counters Failed.
Access to the registry key ‘Global’ is denied.

Workaround:Add the affected user to the local Users and Performance Monitor Users group on the server hosting the web console

    this is not working for me. I installed SCOM on Windows Server 2008, and I am the local admin. I got the same issue when access the console. Any idea?
